FCC Environment, part of the FCC Group, have a requirement for an Assistant Civil Engineer to support our Regional Engineering Managers. Overseeing construction projects at numerous sites, you should be performance driven with the ability to deliver added value and improve overall commercial performance.
This is a full time permanent, opportunity which can be based anywhere in the midlands but will involve travel to other FCC sites nationally and could involve nights away from home.
Assistant Civil Engineer Role
To manage the delivery of engineering works with responsibility for health and safety, the minimization of impact to the environment and delivering the engineering programme of works in an efficient and effective manner. Duties and responsibilities include:
Project managing building and other construction activities
Understanding and implementing the company SHEQ policy
Promoting an HSEQ culture to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and statutory legislation
Co-ordinating the activities of engineering contractors
Keeping abreast of engineering developments and best practice in the civil engineering and waste management industries
Formulating capital expenditure proposals
Attending regional and site meetings
Working in conjunction with Estates and Technical functions to maximise efficiency and revenue generation for the Division(s)
Qualifications and Experience
Degree educated in a technical discipline supported with a proven track record in an engineering role
Exposure to developing and implementing engineering strategies, commercial forecasting and acquisitions is preferred
Experience of project delivery, on time and to budget within a demanding commercial environment
