FCC Environment have a requirement for an experienced LGV Driver to join the team at the Wigan waste and recycling management contract, based from our Kirkless site in Higher Ince, Wigan. Reporting to the Transport Supervisor, the successful LGV Driver will transport waste and commodities from FCC sites to off takers facilities in the area as we service the household waste recycling centres.
Ideally experienced in the waste industry, you will need to be available to work overtime as and when required with some flexibility for changes in start and finish times.
Due to the nature of the contract, which operates 7 days per week, 362 days per year, the ability to work weekends is essential. For this role, the shift pattern will run from Saturday to Tuesday inclusive from 07.00 to 17.00hrs (4 x daily shift = 40 hours).
As our LGV Driver, your responsibilities will be:
Embrace, follow and be conversant with our health, safety and quality procedures.
Operation of company vehicle in a safe, efficient and courteous manner.
Maintenance of records ensuring that paperwork is completed in line with policies and procedures
Complete pre-shift and post-shift vehicle inspections and adhere to the company's nil-defect policy
Ensuring loads carried comply with all legal and environmental requirements
Demonstrate high levels of customer service
What you need to be considered for our vacancy?
Driving licence with Class CE entitlement (although Class C category only will be considered)
Driver CPC working towards 35 hours training
A solid geographical grasp of the local road network
Display a can do, will do, happy to do attitude.
