Permanent | Full Time Hours | 37 hours per week
Our Role
In this role, you'll define engineering basis of design and scope, as well as validating and verifying the engineering design, construction and installation within a specialist technical discipline for assigned projects.
You'll provide civil engineering support across multiple projects including creating outline designs during development phases including site/route selection, ground investigation specification, earthworks designs, public road upgrade and landscaping for proposed assets. Developing scope of works and detailed specifications, you'll support site teams to ensure quality of installations. As well as this you will also evaluate tenders and scope, procure and manage specialist services.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you'll have sound technical knowledge of industry standards and specifications and an in depth understanding of CDM Regulations. With the ability to communicate complex technical issues in a clear and concise manner, you'll facilitate decision making by senior management. You should be working on or have a degree in appropriate engineering discipline.
Personally, you'll be approachable yet thorough with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Having the ability to problem solve is important, as is being able to determine critical technical issues and prioritise. With great strength of character, you'll have the ability to guide work, including outputs, to inform relevant audience.

Transmission operates under licence as Scottish Hydro Electric (SHE) Transmission plc, responsible for the transmission of electricity in the north of Scotland. We own and maintain the 132kV, 275kV and 400kV electricity transmission network in our licence area. Our network comprises of underground cables, overhead wooden poles, steel towers and electricity substations, and it extends over a quarter of the UK land mass across some of its most challenging terrain.
