Salary: Competitive depending on skills and experience + annual bonus

Our Role
Our in-house Legal team currently have an exciting opportunity for a Solicitor to join them in supporting and advising SSE Enterprise Telecoms (“SSEET”) on a range of legal matters.
As a subsidiary of SSE and Infracapital, SSEET operate an extensive telecoms network spanning the UK, offering leading edge services to business customers and you will provide sound legal and commercial advice on all aspects of transactions undertaken across the UK; providing proactive and practical options. This will involve providing key legal advice to the sales and delivery teams on business opportunities, advising on corporate transactions, contentious matters, and on its regulatory and statutory obligations. You will be responsible for supporting the legal division and this will include drafting and negotiating contracts to facilitate SSEET’s exciting programme of telecommunications upgrades and its expansion plans.
Your Skills and Experience
We are happy to consider a paralegal, a chartered legal executive or a qualified solicitor with NQ to 3 years PQE. You will assist the existing team to provide proactive and pragmatic legal advice on a range of legal, commercial and operational issues and ensure legal risks are understood and appropriately managed.
Your role will involve dealing with a varied range of contracts and disputes in a timely manner, and having a clear understanding of what is acceptable in the market. Extensive commercial legal experience is therefore essential as is a proven track record of producing high quality and effective legal advice in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
Strong negotiation, drafting, communication and interpersonal skills will be vital to your success, as is the ability to work well on your own and within a team. As periodic travel between our offices throughout the UK is expected, a full UK driving licence is desirable.
Corporate transactional work, in-house and Telecoms experience would be advantageous, but is not a requirement.
