Our Role

As a result of this recent restructure, an exciting opportunity has been created for a Financial Accountant to join the finance team under the SSE Customer Energy Solutions Business.
The Financial Accountant role will be focused around supporting the Finance Business Partner in providing timely and effective support to the Business Energy and SSE Customer Energy Solutions management team, in the areas of Indirect costs and the UK Business Energy Debt portfolio. He/she will be responsible for the processing of month end in a timely manner, budgeting & forecasting activities, preparing detailed variance analysis on a monthly basis using strong knowledge of the business and industry to identify key trends, KPI reporting and balance sheet control account reconciliations.
Your Skills and Experience
- Effectively communicating financial performance to operational colleagues to embed financial understanding within the business
- Operationally and commercially focused
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills
- A strong background of engaging and challenging the business
- Ability to challenge and drive change in processes to ensure that they are being carried out in an efficient manner
- Pro-active in solving problems and tackling issues that impact the business
- Fully qualified accountant with Post Qualified Experience in a Financial/Management Accountant business-interfacing role with experience of solving business issues
- Adaptive to changing objectives and priorities to deliver results
- Focused on creating value for the Finance Business Partner and Management team
- Proficient in MS Office applications (particularly excel)
