Location: Reading Salary: £44,195 - £58,371 depending on skills and experience + car/cash allowance Permanent | Full Time Hours with flexible working patterns available| 37 hours per week Our Role Due to continued growth, we are looking for experienced Project Managers to join our Major Projects Delivery team based in Reading, conveniently located in Reading town centre. This new location offers new flexibility in the way we work, and the role can be carried out splitting time between the office, site and either your home or another SSEN location. As a Project manager, you'll be responsible for managing a range of projects in accordance with our investment management process. You'll be responsible for all aspects of the project including safety, quality, cost and programme. As part of a project management team, you'll work closely with design engineers, field staff, contractors, customers, and key stakeholders. Your Skills and Experience To be successful in this role, you'll have previous experience of managing construction projects involving underground cables, overhead lines and substation works. An engineering qualification is preferred and a recognised qualification in construction safety and project management would be advantageous. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are vital, and you will need to be comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external. You'll be experienced in the Construction Design and Management Regulations and understand the duties of Client, Principal Designer and Principal Contractor. Experienced in contract management, you'll ideally have experience of NEC construction contracts. With good problem-solving skills, you'll have the ability to thrive under pressure. Our Company At Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN), our skilled teams operate and maintain our electricity distribution and transmission networks, carrying electricity to over 3.7 million homes across the north of the Central Belt of Scotland and Central Southern England. The Major Projects Delivery team is responsible for asset replacement and network reinforcement projects on the primary and grid distribution networks covering voltages up to 132kV.
