Salary:  £43,200 –  £65,500 depending on skills and experience + annual bonus
Permanent | Full Time Hours with flexible working patterns available | 37 hours per week
The Role
A technical safety position within the Renewables Engineering Centre (REC) Team with responsibility for risk management as part of the engineering design process
You will be responsible for providing specialist support across a range of renewables projects and operations – Onshore /Offshore Wind, Hydro and emergent technologies – from early development and planning through design and construction and into operations and ultimately decommissioning. You will be responsible for establishing the processes, procedures and management tools to ensure technical risk is management appropriately and the duties of the principle designer are discharged consistently across the portfolio.
The Renewables Technical Risk Manager will ensure the quality of work delivered is carried out to a high standard, achieves customer/client/stakeholder/regulators requirement/expectations and all that processes and procedures are adhered to in an efficient and consistent manner across projects. 
Furthermore, the Renewables Technical Risk Manager will build and maintain firm relationships with key stakeholders including Regulatory Authorities, Industry Bodies, Designer Consultants and Contractors and Site Operational Teams.
They will also apply the support, facilitate and enable sharing of SHE lessons learnt across projects.
Your Skills & Experience
-Strong knowledge and understanding of multi-disciplined engineering disciplines.
-Possess advanced technical skills related to Process Safety and SHE Management, including application of hazard studies and design risk assessment tools.
-Able to provide health and safety guidance to support safe project delivery. Understanding of development, design and construction activities.
-A familiarity with the principles of ALARP
-Knowledge of Construction Design Management Regulations would be beneficial
-Knowledge of power generation or process industry background and bring a solid understanding of engineering design development processes for major projects.
-Developed project design assurance processes. Offshore wind experience is preferable.
-Ability to work and deliver against challenging constraints.

-Ability to engage and communicate effectively with people all levels
-First class interpersonal and communication skills with natural flair for forging relationships
